The Double Comfort Safari Club by Alexander McCall Smith

The Double Comfort Safari ClubThe Double Comfort Safari Club by Alexander McCall Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As you can see, I'm a real fan of this series, and this one didn't disappoint. Set in Botswana and centered around the lives of two women who run a detective agency plus their families, the setting and characters now feel like old friends. There was real drama in this one; Phuti Radaphuti is changed forever. Other plotlines include an inheritance from a well to do American. Mma Ramotswe must find the safari guide described in the will. And Violet Sephotho strikes again. This time she steals a house! There are the usual happy coincidences that keep the characters' lives running smoothly. After reading so many of these, my expectations are adjusted accordingly.

These books, for me, provide a nice break, especially when I've been reading books that haven't flowed smoothly. Those always slow my reading down, but one of these books speeds it right back up again. If you like the series, I'd definitely recommend this one as well.

This series begins with The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency.
