The Indie Experiment: Making Book Trailers

Today's blogpost is on The Scribbler's Cove and is about my experience making a book trailer. It was a fun process with a steep learning curve, and I know I've only just scratched the surface. Here's the final product I came up with:

Head on over to The Cove to hear about the making of that trailer, and see an earlier draft!

  1. I think that's a pretty cool trailer. The line about "never seen so much blood" really caught my attention. :-) I think it was a good idea to juxtapose the pictures with intriguing sentences like that. I liked your post over at the Scribblers Cove, too, telling all the mistakes you found and how you had to work to make things better. I am absolutely in awe at people who can make visual things like this. And I know exactly what you mean about being a speed reader, and having to slow down the text for "normal" people. :D

Do you ever watch any of the homemade fan videos at YouTube, for instance, where fans take snippets of their favourite show and put it to music? Some of them are so incredible! I've seen some awesome ones done for Guy of Gisborne from the Robin Hood series, or for Doctor Who and Merlin. It's just amazing what people can come up with. *envious sigh* :-)

    1. Hi Melanie,

I've only seen a few fan videos, but I agree, the talent out there is humbling! My favorite fan created video still is the literal video for Total Eclipse of the Heart http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/f03d464867/total-eclipse-of-the-heart-literal-video-version-original
