Very sorry to hear that Shiny will be closing down after Issue 6. They were a great market and bought a YA short story that I'd been circulating for years. I hope the editors all get to move on to things they love!
Okay, I had seen this post "Shiny Closing" on my blog list but hadn't had time to catch up on your new posts yet. My husband used to be in the mortgage business, I know you're selling and moving, and I know very very well what a "closing" is in this business. So i am thinking, what a cool and creative way to refer to a closing when all goes well, a "shiny closing." (Never heard of the YA mag Shiny, obviously)
So I am thinking you are a very clever writer who knows how to turn a phrase, calling it a shiny closing lol.
