Energy crash
It's been a full couple of days. Carrie Vaughn was out to visit and do some research for her 10th Kitty book, and it was great to see her. She had a full schedule of looking at sights and meeting with her UK editor and publisher. I tagged along for what I could - she actually apologized for keeping me waiting in a bookstore during her business meetings, like this is some kind of torment for me??? My friend's writing career is going strong and I'm surrounded by books?
Wednesday night I went to the Romantic Novelists Association winter party, my first event with this association. They were a wonderfully warm and supportive group and I met a lot of new people. I don't quite qualify for their New Writers Program, since I'm published, but it sounds like a fantastic program for people who want to break into publishing. Makes me almost wish I wasn't published in romance! Trevor came with me to that.
Then last night I had jewelry class, and just like the week before, managed to break something right before the end of class (my project, not anything owned by the school :-). My instructor, Sima Vizary (whose site is not coming up on Google right now... grrr) was kind enough to stay late so we could fix the damage.
It's not surprising that my energy gave out today, but it's still disappointing. I don't like my tired all the time, insomniac self. I spent time with my son (always my first priority) dozed a little on the couch, I watched some TV on the computer, and that's about it. Days like this drive me crazy. I'm hoping to catch a second wind this upcoming week, but am not banking on it. I may sound rather cranky on this blog for the next couple of months, but I'll try to avoid that.
