Home in time for Christmas

I haven't posted in quite a while because last Thursday, our second son was born. As is always the case on this blog, I won't post his name or many details, other than to say he's healthy and we're very happy to have him with us. Someday he may want to get his own blog and post his baby pictures and embarrassing stories from his childhood, but I'll leave that up to him :-)

We ended up staying in the hospital for almost a week to treat his jaundice. Now we're home and I'm back on my sleep medication, which means I'll be unconscious for much of the next few days. Still, it feels very good to sleep!

I'd intended to write a blogpost or two comparing the medical care between here and the US. Unfortunately, our experience at our local hospital was so negative that we're filing a formal complaint. I'll post the saga once the complaint is resolved if I can. For now, I need to preserve confidentiality - if I file a complaint and blog the details, anyone affected by an investigation could track me down as the filer of the complaint via Google. But if you live in East London and are about to have a baby and want to know what to watch out for, do feel free to email me. New mothers need to be warned off the hospital I was in!

For now, suffice it to say everyone's healthy and well and no lasting damage was done.

  1. Congratulations on your second baby! I'm glad to hear that you're all healthy and well, but sad about your hospital experience. Hope you get the sleep you need now -- everything is that much worse when you're tired, isn't it?

  4. Congratulations on the newest family member. Sorry to hear about your hospital stay, but what better person to file a complaint. Hope your holidays are filled with good food, warmth, great care, family surrounding you, and lots of sleep.
    Take care... Diane B.
